Winery Dispute: Brad Pitt Accused of Behaving ‘Childishly’

  • A winery once co-owned by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has been the center of a legal dispute, with Jolie accusing Pitt of “looting” its assets.
  • In a recent court filing, Jolie’s former company, Nouvel, alleges that Pitt behaved “like a petulant child” and wasted money on unnecessary projects.
  • This ongoing feud between the former couple revolves around their ownership of the winery, which they purchased together and later sold to a Russian oligarch after their divorce.

The legal battle surrounding Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s winery continues to escalate.

In a newly obtained court filing, Nouvel, a company formerly owned by Jolie, accuses Pitt of behaving childishly and squandering money on unnecessary projects, such as repeatedly building and rebuilding a staircase.

Nouvel’s lawyers claim that Pitt engaged in a vindictive campaign to control and exploit the wine business that he and Jolie had established together.

In 2008, the celebrity couple jointly purchased Château Miraval, a winery located in the south of France. However, following their acrimonious divorce, Jolie sold her 50% stake to a Russian oligarch.

Pitt previously alleged in the ongoing lawsuit that Jolie sold her share without his knowledge, knowing that the oligarch would attempt to wrest control of the $28-million winery from him.

According to the latest complaint, Pitt was infuriated by Jolie’s refusal to sell her half of the winery to him, leading him to act childishly by excluding the new co-owner from the business while depleting its assets.

The filing states, “After taking control of Chateau Miraval and its highly profitable wine business, Pitt wasted company assets by spending millions on unnecessary projects, including over $1 million on pool renovations, building and rebuilding a staircase multiple times, and investing millions in the restoration of a recording studio.”

Insider’s request for comment was ignored by the lawyers representing Nouvel, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie.
