Baumgartner’s lawyers have requested $161,592 per month, based on a forensic accountant’s assessment of Costner’s finances. Initially, she wanted $248,000 per month.
Costner’s team argues that the requested amount goes beyond the children’s reasonable needs and is disguised as spousal support.
Baumgartner’s lawyer, John Rydell, argues that the increased amount is necessary to maintain their children’s luxurious lifestyle, which is already ingrained in them.
Baumgartner became emotional while discussing Costner’s Dunbar Ranch, where the couple got married and frequently vacationed in Aspen, Colorado.
The 160-acre estate, which Costner purchased for $30 million in 2000, is solely owned by him.
An eyewitness reported that Baumgartner became tearful when questioned about the property, prompting a short break for her to regain composure.
Lawyers for both Costner and Baumgartner have not commented on the matter.
Baumgartner filed for divorce from Costner in May, citing irreconcilable differences. Since then, their lawyers have been fighting to secure the best outcomes for their clients.
