Elaine Adams, a retiree from Shropshire, is moving her life savings away from NatWest as a result of the “appalling” way the bank handled Farage’s situation. She expressed her anger towards the bank, stating, “I am leaving NatWest after what they have done… He has done nothing wrong, and the situation is appalling.”

Expressing concerns about privacy, Adams questioned how many other banks keep similar reports on individuals, remarking, “The fact that they have kept a Stasi-esque report on him is scary. I am shocked. The bank’s arrogance and mistreatment of people should not be tolerated. They should stick to their banking role. The board should be dismissed if this is their view. The bank no longer aligns with my principles.”

Caroline Trotter from Northamptonshire closed both her Instant Saver Account and Select Platinum Account in the past week. She remains angry about Farage’s treatment and the overall woke culture in Britain. Trotter emphasized that banks should focus on providing quality banking services rather than delving into politics, as happy customers are essential for their existence.

Angela Kelly from Merseyside shared in a letter to the Telegraph that she closed her two NatWest accounts due to political views that align with Nigel Farage. Similarly, Rob Gullet, a NatWest customer and Conservative with traditional values, expressed concern over how the bank and its executives treated Farage.

Prior to her resignation, Dame Alison Rose, the chief executive of NatWest, issued an apology to Nigel Farage for the mishandling of his account closure. She affirmed her strong belief in freedom of expression and clarified that the bank does not have a policy of closing accounts based on legally-held political and personal views.
