Good governance, efficient transportation, and easy access to healthcare are just a few of the things that Filipino Goodwill Ambassadors of the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) mentioned missing after returning home from their time in Europe. This revelation came during a press conference at Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City, on September 14.

The fair, with its theme “Pathways to Excellence,” aims to emphasize that education knows no geographical boundaries. It showcases the European Union’s commitment to providing Filipino students with an immersive platform to explore diverse fields of study and unlock global opportunities.

During the panel discussion, the Goodwill Ambassadors shared their experiences, lessons, and tips for Filipinos aspiring to study abroad.

When asked for advice for prospective applicants, Gregorio emphasized the importance of research. She urged applicants to thoroughly research public information, identify desired study programs and schools, and reach out to alumni for insights. Gregorio also highlighted the need for sufficient time to complete application requirements such as motivational essays or statements of purpose, ensuring alignment with personal goals and the offerings of the university to increase the likelihood of selection.

Organized by the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines, together with EU member states’ embassies, education services, and institutes, in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education, EHEF will provide Filipino students, professionals, researchers, and university officials with the opportunity to directly connect with world-class higher education institutions from across the EU.

Eighty-five higher education institutions and diplomatic missions from Belgium, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Finland, and Sweden will participate on-site on September 30 and October 1 at Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City, and online on October 2.
