Andy Cohen Regrets Not Having Meghan Markle on His Show
Andy Cohen, host of Watch What Happens Live, is still kicking himself for not having Meghan Markle as a guest on his show. Back when Markle was starring on the TV show Suits, she was pitched as a potential guest on Cohen’s late-night Bravo show. However, Cohen admits that he didn’t watch Suits and passed on the opportunity. Little did he know that Markle would eventually marry Prince Harry and become the Duchess of Sussex.
During a panel at BravoCon 2023, Cohen expressed his regret over not featuring Markle on his show. He explained that his executive producer told him, “You really never know who is going to become a duchess.” When asked if he turned down any other stars, Cohen responded that he didn’t know but was curious to find out. The thought of having clips of Meghan Markle on his show now made him wish he had accepted the offer.
However, Cohen doesn’t think Markle would do his show now, stating, “I think she’s kind of done with it. You know what? I don’t blame her. ‘You passed on me then, you want me now?’ No.” Cohen also shared his perspective on Suits, calling it a “fake show.” He expressed uncertainty about its authenticity and wondered if it was shot on green screens or if it was a parody.
Markle starred on Suits from 2011 to 2018. After marrying Prince Harry in 2018, she left the show, and Suits concluded with its ninth and final season in 2019.
During BravoCon, Cohen also mentioned his curiosity about seeing Markle as a housewife on a Real Housewives spinoff. He mentioned Montecito as a possible city idea, considering that Markle and Prince Harry now reside there.
