West Ham in ongoing talks with Stuttgart following unexpected concern during Konstantinos Mavropanos’ medical, as David Moyes sets sights on pursuing Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

West Ham Football Club is currently in discussions with Stuttgart regarding the potential signing of defender Konstantinos Mavropanos. The player’s medical examination presented a minor issue, but negotiations are ongoing. Mavropanos, a former Arsenal player, has expressed his desire to return to the Premier League. West Ham has previously attempted to sign him in two transfer windows.

The 25-year-old center-back has been close to sealing an £18 million move to West Ham after the club increased their interest in him last week. He was not included in Stuttgart’s squad for their match against Bochum on Saturday as West Ham wanted to prioritize the transfer, especially after their failed attempt to sign Harry Maguire for £30 million.

Mavropanos, who has 19 caps for Greece, caught the attention of Nottingham Forest in July and has previously received interest from Wolves. After leaving Arsenal last summer, he has set his sights on returning to the Premier League. The defender spent two seasons on loan at Stuttgart before making his move permanent in May 2022. He played a crucial role in helping the Bundesliga side remain in the top flight during their last campaign.

West Ham is actively looking to bolster their squad in both attack and defense before the transfer window closes. Manager David Moyes has reignited his interest in signing Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri, with previous attempts to secure the Moroccan striker’s services failing in the January transfer windows of 2021 and 2023. En-Nesyri initially wanted to stay in Spain but Sevilla are now open to letting him leave for the right fee, which is expected to be around £35 million.

In addition, West Ham is considering Paris Saint-Germain’s Hugo Ekitike as a potential attacking option, although talks in that regard have not progressed significantly. Fulham has also shown interest in Ekitike as they look for a replacement for their departing striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who recently moved to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League for a club-record fee of £46 million.

On the outgoing front, West Ham midfielder Flynn Downes has joined Southampton on a season-long loan. Downes, who appeared 35 times for West Ham last season, has previously played under Southampton coach Russell Martin during his time at Swansea City.

In other news, Mail Sport has launched a new football show called “It’s All Kicking Off,” which offers a fresh perspective on Premier League football. The show is available on various platforms, including MailOnline, Mail+, YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify.
