We Put Kiss Nails’ $6 False-Nail Remover to the Test

Here is a transcript of the video for the Kiss Glue Off Instant False Nail Remover.

Nico Reyes: Today, I will be putting the Kiss Glue Off Instant False Nail Remover to the test. This product aims to melt nail glue, making it easier to remove press-on nails without causing any damage to the natural nails. The application process involves squeezing the product along the cuticle, waiting for one minute for the glue to dissolve, and then gently lifting the fake nails off using the provided chisel tip. Personally, I enjoy wearing press-on nails, but have had issues with removing them, resulting in weakened and unsightly nails. Therefore, I am eagerly anticipating trying out this product.

First, I need to apply my press-on nails. I will be using these custom ones from Color Camp, and my preferred adhesive, the Kiss Pink Nail Glue. This glue is exceptionally strong, allowing me to enjoy two weeks of wear with my press-ons. I believe this glue will serve as an excellent test for the remover.

Now that my press-ons are securely in place, it’s time to remove them. It saddens me because they look incredibly adorable. However, let’s find out if the Kiss Glue Off lives up to its claims. The first step involves creating a small airspace beneath the nails using the chisel tip. This allows the product to penetrate and dissolve the glue. It can be a bit tricky, especially with the narrow nozzle obstructing the process.

Removing the glue is not as simple as scooping it away, especially with freshly applied glue. I imagine this product works best when the tips of the press-ons are already lifting. Nonetheless, I am determined to make it work. It seems that the right side of my pointer finger has created the desired air pocket. Alexa, please set a timer for one minute.

Alexa: One minute, starting now.

Nico: Thank you. The nail is almost entirely off. I would say it’s halfway detached at this point. According to the instructions, I need to repeat the process instead of simply tearing the nail off, which is something I would typically do for the sake of saving time. However, let’s give it another try. Oh! Oh no! It worked! Great, let’s continue.

I think I’ve figured it out. I must admit, I struggle a bit with handling the chisel tip. It tends to slip and makes control more challenging due to the liquid consistency. Despite this, I am persevering. So far, my nails are looking better than when I forcefully remove my press-ons, exposing broken layers. They only require a slight buffing and removal of excess glue. Not bad at all.

After using the Kiss Glue Off Remover, I had to remove some excess glue and give my nails a gentle buffing. However, they feel quite good overall. As a point of comparison, I also attempted the acetone soak-off method. One aspect I dislike about this method is how it dries out both my nails and skin. After all, you are submerging your fingers in a bowl of acetone.

The Kiss Glue Off provides a more controlled and less drying experience. I put this product to the test by using it with freshly applied glue. The instructions suggest waiting until there is some lifting before using the remover, which is likely why it took some time to create the air pockets. Nonetheless, I am satisfied with the results. It took a few attempts to master the chisel tip, but once I did, it was easy and effective to use. If you are a fan of press-on nails like me, I highly recommend giving this product a try.
