Warriors’ Stephen Curry’s Knee Injury Update: No Structural Damage but Will Sit Out Another Game

The Golden State Warriors announced Wednesday that All-Star guard Stephen Curry has avoided structural damage in his injured right knee, but will be sitting out Thursday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This will be the second consecutive game that Curry will miss, as he also sat out Tuesday’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The team has labeled his injury as a sore right knee. Despite the absence, the MRI he underwent on Tuesday revealed no structural damage, and he is scheduled for re-evaluation later in the week. The team’s next game will be against the Thunder on Saturday, which is also a home game for the Warriors.

The Warriors are currently on a four-game losing streak after starting the season with 6 wins and 2 losses.

The injury occurred during Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves, when Curry fell hard on his right knee while driving to the basket in the fourth quarter.

Curry, who is currently in his 15th NBA season, has had a remarkable start to the season, playing all 11 games while averaging 30.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. He has been shooting 48.8% from the field and 44.6% on 3-point attempts.

The injury comes as a setback for the struggling 6-5 Warriors team, particularly on offense outside of Curry, who is the only player this season to score more than 20 points in a game. He has surpassed this mark in each of his 11 games. The Warriors will be looking towards Klay Thompson, Chris Paul, and Andrew Wiggins to step up their offense in his absence.
