Warren Buffett Accused of Being a ‘Sociopathic Grandpa’ in His Opposition to Bitcoin

Billionaire investor Peter Thiel, known for his association with former President Donald Trump, has delivered scathing remarks about Warren Buffett, referring to him as a “sociopathic grandpa” and accusing him of being part of a “gerontocracy” that seeks to impede the progress of Bitcoin.

Speaking at the annual Bitcoin conference in Miami, Thiel, who is renowned for co-founding PayPal and his investments in SpaceX and Stripe, expressed his belief that older business figures like the 90-year-old “Oracle of Omaha” were deliberately stifling the aspirations of the younger generations.

Thiel stated, “I believe the most honest and direct opposition to the spread of Bitcoin comes from the sociopathic grandpa from Omaha. It’s a battle between the finance gerontocracy that controls the nation and a revolutionary youth movement. We need to leave this conference empowered to conquer the world.”

Thiel showcased images of prominent businessmen to the audience in Miami, identifying JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon and BlackRock CEO Larry Fink as part of Buffett’s alleged conspiracy against Bitcoin. He emphasized that these executives are at the top of his “enemies list”.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Thiel amassed a significant portion of his estimated $5.2 billion fortune through Bitcoin investments made by his firm, Founders Fund. He served as one of the longest-standing members on Meta’s board (owner of Facebook) until February, when he stepped down, reportedly to focus on supporting Donald Trump in the upcoming midterm elections.
