The recent sentencing of Danny Masterson to 30 years in prison for two counts of rape has brought renewed attention to the show’s cast. “That ’70s Show” was a launching pad for many of its stars, including Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Laura Prepon, and Topher Grace.

Following Masterson’s conviction and the backlash to some castmates supporting him, fans are questioning whether the show should be removed from streaming and syndication (The Insider).

“Did Peacock remove ‘That 70s Show’ from their streaming platform yet?” asked one Twitter user (Tweet source).

Another Twitter user wrote, “So basically the entire cast of ‘That 70s Show’ has decided to defend Danny then? @peacock – remove the show from your platform” (Tweet source).

Comparisons are being made to “The Cosby Show,” which was pulled from syndication after Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction in 2018 (Refinery 29).

TV Land, Aspire, and BET’s Centric were among the first networks to stop showing reruns of “The Cosby Show” after the allegations against Cosby resurfaced. Bounce TV and Netflix also took action in response to Cosby’s guilty verdict (Refinery 29, CBS). Despite the controversy, the show is still available to purchase on Amazon and stream through Philo, with TV One continuing to air the show (sources).

Some fans believe if “The Cosby Show” is no longer on air, “That ’70s Show” should also be removed (Tweet source).

Representatives for Peacock, Amazon, and Laff have not yet provided a comment on the situation (Insider).
