‘Very Challenging’ ‘Jeopardy!’ Geography Clue Leaves All 3 Contestants Puzzled

Warning: The following article contains spoilers regarding the June 16 episode of “Jeopardy!”

Can you guess the answer?

In a surprising turn of events, none of the contestants on Friday’s episode of “Jeopardy!” were able to answer the Final Jeopardy question.

According to show recappers, the final clue came from the American Geography category, stating, “Native Americans called it Okwa-ta, or ‘wide water’; Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville would rename it for a countryman.”

The players on Friday’s episode were Erica Rapheal, an epidemiologist from St. Paul, Minnesota; Ben Goldstein, a content marketing specialist from Dexter, Michigan; and Suzanne Goldlust, a marketing manager from Reston, Virginia.

Unfortunately, none of them were able to provide the correct answer, which was Lake Pontchartrain.

“Personally, I found this Final Jeopardy clue to be quite challenging, but that may be because I’m Canadian,” said Andy Saunders, a writer for The Jeopardy Fan, regarding the triple stumper.

“However, it becomes easier if you know that Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville is the founder of Louisiana. I’m not sure how many viewers or contestants are aware of the founder of Louisiana. Personally, I guessed Lake Champlain, but I wouldn’t be surprised if at least one contestant on stage shared my guess,” added Saunders.

The Post has reached out to a representative from “Jeopardy!” for comment.

In a recent episode, a different set of three contestants were unable to answer 23 clues, resulting in the lowest Coryat score of the season (Coryat score is a player’s score if wagers are not considered).

According to one Reddit user, the record for “Jeopardy!” triple stumpers is 24, set in 2005.

On Thursday’s episode, viewers were left in awe when none of the contestants could complete the Lord’s Prayer.
