Vanilla Ice Reacts to Miranda Lambert, Encourages Fans to Capture Selfies

  • Vanilla Ice is completely fine with fans taking selfies at his shows.
  • During a recent show in Atlantic City, the rapper made a reference to Miranda Lambert’s disapproval of fans taking photos.
  • Miranda Lambert previously paused a performance in July to call out fans for taking pictures.

Miranda Lambert may not appreciate fans taking selfies at her shows, but Vanilla Ice has a different attitude.

According to a report by People’s Brenton Blanchet and Dana Rose Falcone, the rapper made a cheeky comment about Lambert during his show in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He encouraged fans to take as many selfies as they wanted.

In a previous Las Vegas residency performance, Lambert halted her show and called out fans for taking photos. She expressed frustration that they weren’t fully engaged with her music.

Vanilla Ice, age 55, mentioned Lambert, age 39, during his performance at the “I Love the ’90s” concert. People reported that he made the comment while onstage after performing “Ice Ice Baby” and invited fans to take photos, stating, “You can take all the selfies you want — this ain’t no Miranda Lambert concert.” He even referenced Lambert again later in the show, encouraging fans to “turn it around like Miranda hates.”

As of now, representatives for Miranda Lambert and Vanilla Ice have not responded to Insider’s request for comment.

Earlier this month, Lambert paused her performance of “Tin Man” during a Las Vegas show to address fans taking photos. A TikTok video posted by user @redneckinvegas captured the moment.

In the video, Lambert says, “I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry,” and the caption reads, “Miranda said it’s My Show.” She expresses disappointment in fans being more concerned with taking selfies than listening to her music.

She continues, “Sorry, I don’t like it at all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music.” Lambert received cheers from the audience before asking, “Shall we start again?”

While Lambert received a positive response from fans at her show, the TikTok video generated mixed reactions in the comments. Some viewers commended Lambert, while others shared negative experiences from attending her shows.

A woman who claimed to be part of the group Lambert criticized expressed her disappointment in an interview with NBC News. Adela Calin, age 43, said she felt “appalled” by Lambert’s scolding, stating that she was just trying to take a quick picture and wasn’t being immature or vain.

Overall, the contrasting attitudes towards fan selfies between Vanilla Ice and Miranda Lambert during their respective performances continue to generate discussions and varying opinions.
