Utah’s Own Noelia Voigt Crowned Miss USA 2023: A Remarkable Win Celebrated by WWD

Noelia Voigt, a 22-year-old licensed esthetician and certified lash technician, made history by being crowned Miss USA 2023. She received the crown from the previous titleholder, Miss USA 2022 Morgan Romano of North Carolina, who took over after R’Bonney Gabriel won Miss Universe 2023. Born to an American-Venezuelan couple in Florida, Voigt has a multicultural background that she plans to represent as Miss USA.

Before winning the Miss USA title, Voigt had already achieved success in the pageant world. She won Miss Teen Florida in 2018 and Miss Alabama Collegiate America in 2020, and also competed in four other pageants before running for Miss Utah. Her final question at the Miss USA pageant focused on her role as a brand ambassador for the organization. Voigt emphasized the importance of connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and vowed to represent every community with her bilingual skills and unique perspective as a Venezuelan-American woman.

The Miss USA pageant took place at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada and featured 51 contestants competing in various rounds, including swimsuits, evening gowns, and interviews. The event was hosted by Keltie Knight and Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, and the judging panel included beauty entrepreneur Patrick Starrr, fashion designer Nicole Miller, actress Vivica A. Fox, and model Emina Cunmulaj Nazarian.

During the pageant, Miss Hawaii Savannah Gankiewicz won the best state costume award with her outfit inspired by the banyan tree of Lahaina. The costume symbolized the resilience and spirit of Hawaii’s people. In the end, Noelia Voigt emerged as the winner, along with the other top four contestants: Alexis Loomans from Wisconsin, Lluvia Alzate from Texas, Savannah Gankiewicz from Hawaii, and Jasmine Daniels from Pennsylvania.

The Miss USA organization underwent a change in ownership in 2022, with JKN Global Group, owned by Thai transgender entrepreneur Anne Jakrajutatip, taking over. Laylah Rose assumed the roles of president and CEO of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, aiming to empower women and inspire them to pursue their dreams with integrity. This year’s sponsors included Portia and Scarlett, Ema Savahl, and Diverse Style by Sydni Dion, providing stunning looks for the participants.

Noelia Voigt, with her diverse background and passion for connecting with people, is ready to embrace her role as Miss USA 2023 and represent all communities across the United States.
