Usher’s former spouse seeks to empty Georgia lake where her son tragically passed away

The former wife of R&B sensation Usher, Tameka Foster, is seeking to drain a lake in Georgia where her son tragically lost his life 11 years ago. Foster’s 11-year-old son, Kile Glover, was fatally struck by a jet ski while floating in an inner tube on Lake Lanier in 2012. In an effort to enhance safety measures, Foster has launched a petition to empty the lake, which has already garnered over 3,700 signatures.

Foster’s change.org petition states that draining, cleaning, and restoring Lake Lanier is not only crucial but also an opportunity to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives and prevent any further tragedies. She describes the lake as having a troubled history, marred by numerous unfortunate incidents resulting in the loss of innocent lives.

Kile, Foster’s son with Bounce TV founder Ryan Glover, was declared brain-dead and kept on life support for two weeks before passing away. The individual responsible for the accident, Jeffrey Hubbard, was sentenced to four years in prison.

Foster emphasizes the urgent need for proper zoning, safety measures, and a complete overhaul of Lake Lanier in light of this incident and others like it. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has documented hundreds of boat collisions on the lake over the past three decades, mainly due to heavy traffic. Furthermore, between 1994 and 2018, there were 170 reported boating and drowning deaths.

Foster and Usher were married for two years before divorcing in 2009.
