Two individuals are currently hospitalized after sustaining gunshot wounds in Uptown on Saturday night, as reported by MEDIC.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department released new details about the shooting on Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Saturday following reports of an assault involving a deadly weapon.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered two juveniles with gunshot injuries. Both victims were urgently transported to the hospital due to the severity of their wounds.
Authorities have confirmed the apprehension of one juvenile suspect, while another suspect believed to be connected to the shooting remains at large.

An image from a viewer’s Twitter account depicts a significant police presence, obstructing the majority of the road.
The motive behind the shooting and the identities of those involved are currently unknown.
Bringing insight from the vicinity of the park where the shooting occurred, Channel 9 veteran crime reporter Glenn Counts spoke with local residents. Aliyssa Baligod recounted hearing the gunfire from her 19th-floor apartment.
“Suddenly I heard gunshots. It seemed like it was from outside. I initially mistook it for fireworks and paid no mind to it. Then, I heard frantic screaming and running, followed by the blaring of sirens,” Baligod recalled. “I peered out onto my balcony, and there were people sprinting in every direction.”
