Upgrade Alert: Unlocked Galaxy S23 in the US Now Receiving Android 14 and One UI 6

The official Android 14-based One UI 6 update is now rolling out to unlocked Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra units in the US. Samsung initiated the rollout in late October, and although there was a slight slowdown, the pace has picked up once again.

Earlier today, carrier models of the Galaxy S23 series received the Android 14 update, and now it’s available for unlocked units. The firmware version accompanying the update ends in BWK4 and includes the November 2023 security patch.

One UI 6 introduces numerous new features, including enhancements to the Camera app and photo editing tools. While the stable update is not as smooth as the beta versions, it still runs well on all three phones. To update, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install, or download the firmware from our library and flash it on your device using a Windows PC.

Editor’s note: It’s important to note that you may experience slightly reduced battery life after installing Android 14, but it should stabilize after a few charge cycles. If you’re hesitant to upgrade due to the smoothness issue or reduced battery life, you may want to wait for a newer build of the firmware, which could be released in the coming weeks alongside the stable update for Korean users.
