MANILA, Philippines — University of the Philippines (UP) and National University (NU) emerged victorious in the latest round of the UAAP Season 86 women’s basketball tournament. UP defeated last year’s runner-up, the La Salle Lady Archers, with a score of 65-61, while NU dominated the University of the East (UE) with a score of 72-50.
UP’s win against La Salle solidified their unbeaten record of six wins, marking their best start in the Final Four era. Louna Ozar led UP with 14 points, six assists, and four steals, while Marian Domingo contributed 14 points, five rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Christie Bariquit and Rhea Sanchez also made significant contributions with nine points each.
National University’s victory against UE secured their second straight win. Ann Pingol led the team with 14 points, while Angel Surada had a double-double performance with 11 points and 15 rebounds.
