Unveiling the World’s First ‘Frozen’ Amusement Park Area at Hong Kong Disneyland

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is set to open a new land on November 20, 2023, inspired by Disney’s popular “Frozen” movie franchise. Named World of Frozen, this area will transport visitors to Arendelle, the fictional village from the films where Disney sisters Elsa and Anna reside.

World of Frozen will offer various attractions, including the “Frozen Ever After” boat ride and the “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs” roller coaster. The “Frozen Ever After” boat ride will introduce Walt Disney Imagineering’s state-of-the-art all-electric Audio-Animatronics figures, which are lifelike robots capable of movement and speech. These figures can also be found in other Disney attractions like Walt Disney World’s Hall of Presidents and Tokyo DisneySea’s Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull.

World of Frozen brings iconic scenes from the “Frozen” movies to life, including the Ice Palace where Elsa reveals her icy powers for the first time, and the magnificent Arendelle Castle. The park is influenced by Norwegian design, featuring “dragestil” architecture with ornate dragon-headed roofs and rosemaling, traditional floral paintings.

The creation of World of Frozen started with a simple sketch by Michel den Dulk, Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering, seven years ago. This long-awaited themed land is finally coming to life at Hong Kong Disneyland.
