PowerPyx discovered that the Modern Warfare 3 Trophy list is categorized as DLC for Modern Warfare 2 on your PS5 Profile.
While the PS4 version of Modern Warfare 3 has its own listing and a Platinum Trophy, the PS5 version is integrated within Modern Warfare 2. This means that if you want to achieve 100% completion on your PS5 Profile, you’ll need to own and complete both games. In addition to reaching level 55 in multiplayer, you’ll also need to complete challenges in the new open-world Zombies mode and accomplish specific feats in the single-player missions.
This absence of a Platinum Trophy in a AAA $70 game of this nature is virtually unprecedented, with only a few indie titles foregoing this prestigious achievement. One possible reason for this is the way Call of Duty games are accessed through the Call of Duty HQ app. Games like Warzone 2, Modern Warfare 2, Vanguard, and Black Ops Cold War are all launched from a single menu, creating a cohesive Call of Duty experience. This structural design may have influenced the grouping of Trophies, with Modern Warfare 2 being chosen as the lead category for all future Call of Duty titles.
However, this issue has been resolved in other game collections. The Mass Effect Legendary Edition, for example, has separate Trophy lists for each game in the trilogy. Despite the recent Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection’s clumsy approach, it still managed to provide individual Platinum Trophies for the PS1 and PS3 titles. While a solution exists for this problem, Activision has chosen not to implement it. Therefore, if you’re determined to obtain the Platinum Trophy in Modern Warfare 3, you’ll need to play the PS4 version called “A Soldier’s Purpose.”
