Unveiling the Hidden Secret to a Truly Authentic Barbie Dreamhouse with HGTV’s Tiffany Brooks

Barbie fever is sweeping the nation as the highly anticipated summer blockbuster “Barbie,” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, hits the big screens. Adding to the excitement, HGTV has launched a new reality competition show called “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge,” featuring HGTV star Tiffany Brooks as one of the judges. Brooks expressed her immediate enthusiasm for being on the show, stating that she couldn’t pass up the opportunity because she knew the network stars were all fiercely competitive.

Hosted by model Ashley Graham, “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge” airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. The show follows eight teams of HGTV stars as they transform a house in Southern California into a real-life version of the iconic Barbie Dreamhouse. Each team is given a designated space, such as the kitchen or living room, and assigned a specific decade, like the ’60s or ’90s.

Using life-size features reminiscent of Barbie Dreamhouse toy sets, such as a pink staircase, a purple pet elevator, or a light-up dance floor, the teams work to transform their designated spaces. A panel of judges then decides which team advances to the next round, and the winning team receives a donation to Save The Children in their name.

Brooks, a renowned interior designer based in Chicago, is a well-known figure on HGTV. She previously won “HGTV Star” in 2013 and served as the host/designer for “HGTV Smart Home” in 2020. She also competed on Season 2 of “Rock the Block.” Not only is Brooks an HGTV star, but she’s also a dedicated Barbie fan. She shared her collection of nine Dreamhouses and Barbie structures, some of which she made or refurbished herself, while others she purchased. This hobby became a way for her to connect with her late father, who would surprise her with new Barbie dolls and playsets every week.

On “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge,” Brooks serves as a judge alongside Jonathan Adler and other guests like Kitty Black Perkins, the designer of the first Black Barbie, and Maureen McCormick from “A Very Brady Renovation.” The show requires teams to reflect a specific decade in their home transformations and incorporate “toyetic” features that can be interacted with, just like in the Barbie Dreamhouses. Brooks pays attention to the iconic features and patterns used in Barbie designs, ensuring that they are incorporated tastefully and that the space remains functional for humans.

The first episode of “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge” features teams such as Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson from “Married to Real Estate” competing against Jasmine Roth from “Help! I Wrecked My House” and Antonia Lofaso from Food Network’s “Beachside Brawl.” With celebrity guest judges like Maureen McCormick joining the panel, the teams face the challenge of creating beautiful spaces that capture the essence of their assigned decades.

Barbie Mania is definitely in the air, and with the combination of the exciting movie and HGTV’s “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge,” fans are guaranteed a summer filled with creativity, competition, and nostalgia.
