Unveiling the Arrest of Duo Behind a Spree of Storage Unit Burglaries

Two men apprehended for a string of storage unit thefts in an unincorporated region near Corona have been arrested, as announced by authorities on Thursday.

On September 19, deputies were dispatched to the 22000 block of Knabe Road after reports of burglaries in the area, involving valuable artworks worth over $40,000, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Mark Buela.

The Lake Mathews Special Enforcement Team conducted a thorough investigation and successfully identified two suspects. Deputies also linked at least three burglarized storage units to the individuals involved, Buela stated.

Eric Creech, a 37-year-old resident of Sacramento, and Erick Morris, a 42-year-old resident of Menifee, were apprehended on September 22, according to Buela.

Search warrants were executed at four storage units, leading to the discovery and recovery of the stolen property, Buela added.

Creech and Morris have both been charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy, according to Buela.

Deputies suspect that these two individuals may have been involved in similar storage unit burglaries in Menifee and an unincorporated area near Murrieta, Buela revealed.

Those with any information regarding these burglaries are encouraged to contact Deputy Robert Staggs of the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station at 951-272-5600.
