Unveiling Israel’s Vengeful Policy: Brace for Escalated Conflict and Mounting Loss of Lives

The Israeli killing of thousands of Gazan civilians, including over 700 children, and the forced displacement and ethnic cleansing of over one million Gazans are blatant war crimes. These actions by Israel only guarantee death, injury, and destruction for Palestinians and could potentially make Hamas stronger and create a wider war in the region. It is essential for the Irish Government to strongly condemn this escalation and call for an immediate ceasefire.

It is important to call out the scapegoating of Jews and Muslims for the current horrors unfolding in Israel and Gaza. People living outside the war zones should not be blamed for the decisions or actions of the Israeli government or groups like Hamas or Isis. Just as the Irish in Britain suffered a backlash following IRA bomb attacks in the 1970s and 80s, it is unjust to blame and prejudice other communities who have no involvement in the conflict.

The recent scenes in Israel and Gaza have left people sickened and disbelieving. Innocent human beings are being gunned down in their homes or gardens by fanatics, and the retaliatory airstrikes claim the lives of equally innocent victims. Blaming individuals who have played no part in the hostilities only adds to the sum total of human misery.

Ireland’s rugby squad has given us great times and the belief that one day we will succeed. Although denied a semi-final spot by New Zealand, the team has instilled a sense of belief in the Irish people. Their legacy is the belief they have given us, and we can be proud of their accomplishments.

The Rugby World Cup dream may be over, but let’s not discredit this terrific team. They have given us great victories and while some players may retire, the future looks bright with a strong squad foundation. There should be no negative comments from spectators on what went wrong. Let’s say well done to the team and be proud of their achievements.

There is an excessive difference in the appreciation of rugby and football in Ireland. Despite Ireland’s ranking as one of the top rugby teams in the world, they have consistently failed to progress beyond the quarterfinals of the World Cup. While the men’s football team may be struggling, the gap in esteem between the two codes seems disproportionate.

It’s clear that Stephen Kenny was not the right choice as manager for the Republic of Ireland football team. His tenure has shown that he was not up to the job. The FAI made a mistake appointing a coach without the qualifications or experience to manage an international team. Now is the time for Kenny to step down and for the next manager to evaluate the players and plan for the future. There are several potential candidates who would be a vast improvement, including Roy Keane, who would bring hope and strive for perfection. However, it is unlikely that the FAI will appoint Keane given their track record.
