Unprecedented Victory: Braves Secure Sixth Consecutive NL East Title, Earning First Spot in MLB Postseason

The Atlanta Braves have secured the NL East championship for six consecutive years, solidifying their dominance in the division.

On Wednesday night, the Braves sealed the division title, making them the first team to secure a spot in the 2023 MLB Postseason.

Atlanta secured their division crown with a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, widening their division lead to an impressive 17 games.

Despite the Philadelphia Phillies owning the top wild-card spot, the Braves hold a commanding 17-game lead over them, marking the largest gap between the top-two seeds in any division.

While the Braves have dominated the NL East since 2018, this year’s team may be the strongest they have fielded in recent memory, rivaling even the 2021 World Series champions.

Currently boasting a record of 96-50, the Braves are on track for a remarkable 106-win season. The 2021 team won 88 games, while the franchise’s single-season record stands at 106 wins set in 1998, a team that even inspired a song by Morgan Wallen entitled “’98 Braves.”

What sets the ’23 Braves apart is the presence of not just one, but two MVP candidates driving their success.
