MIAMI, Sept. 27 (UPI) — Russell Wilson and Brock Purdy are among my top four must-start fantasy football quarterbacks for Week 4.

For your fantasy football preparations, make sure to check out my Week 4 running back and wide receiver rankings and waiver-wire addition articles. I will continue to update my positional rankings to account for any developments, including injuries.

Leading the way in my Top 20 quarterback rankings for Week 4 is Justin Herbert. Joining him are Andy Dalton and Jimmy Garoppolo, along with Wilson and Purdy. Additionally, I have included several streaming options in my rankings.

Keep an eye on the status of Derek Carr and Anthony Richardson, who are currently injured, if you have them on your roster before deciding to start them.

Each of my must-start options is ranked within the Top 14 in my quarterback rankings.

Brock Purdy

Purdy had an impressive Week 3 performance, throwing for 310 yards and two touchdowns in a San Francisco 49ers victory over the New York Giants.

This week, the 49ers will face the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks through three weeks, giving up over 250 passing yards per game against Sam Howell, Daniel Jones, and Dak Prescott.

Expect the 49ers to dominate both through the air and on the ground in this matchup. I predict Purdy will throw for close to 300 yards and multiple touchdowns, making him my number 7 play for the week.

Russell Wilson

The Miami Dolphins’ historic blowout of the Denver Broncos in Week 3 overshadowed some standout performances, including quarterback Russell Wilson’s display in the lopsided loss.

Despite only throwing one touchdown, Wilson surpassed the 300-yard passing mark for the second consecutive week. He also threw two touchdowns in Week 1 and another three in Week 2.

This week, the Broncos will face the Chicago Bears, who have one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

The Bears have allowed the second-most points and third-most passing yards through three weeks. They have also given up the third-most passing touchdowns (7) and surrendered the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.

The Bears allowed three touchdown passes from Jordan Love in their season opener, while Baker Mayfield threw for 317 yards against their secondary in Week 2. Patrick Mahomes threw another three scores against the Bears in Week 3.

Expect Wilson to throw for at least 250 yards in this matchup. He is ranked number 9 in my rankings for the week, but has the potential to be a top 5 play if he throws three touchdown passes.

Andy Dalton

Similar to Wilson and Purdy, Dalton is a strong streaming option for Week 4. The veteran quarterback excelled in a start against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3, throwing for 361 yards and two touchdowns and finishing among the top fantasy quarterbacks for the week.

Dalton is expected to start again in Week 4 as a replacement for the injured Bryce Young of the Carolina Panthers. The Minnesota Vikings, who allowed the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks last season, have continued to be generous to the position in 2023.

They have allowed multiple touchdowns to quarterbacks in each of their first three games. If Dalton starts again in Week 4, I expect him to provide low-end QB1 value. He is my number 12 play.

Jimmy Garoppolo

Garoppolo is currently in the concussion protocol, but if he is active for Week 4, he should be started in all fantasy leagues.

The Los Angeles Chargers will be the opponents for the Las Vegas Raiders this week. The Chargers have allowed the most passing yards, the second-most total yards, and the most fantasy points to quarterbacks through three weeks.

In Week 3, the Chargers gave up 367 passing yards and three touchdowns to Kirk Cousins.

During the season opener, the Chargers allowed Tua Tagovailoa to throw for 466 yards and three touchdowns. Ryan Tannehill also had over 250 total yards and two touchdowns against their defense in Week 2.

If Garoppolo is in the Raiders lineup, he should easily surpass 300 passing yards. He is my number 14 play for the week.
