Unleash Tank Dell and Jakobi Meyers: Top 4 Must-Start Wide Receivers for Week 4 Fantasy Football

MIAMI, Sept. 26 (UPI) — Tank Dell and Darius Slayton are among my top four wide receivers to start in Week 4 of the fantasy football season. For more lineup options, check out my recommended add/drops before your waiver wire opens. Additionally, be sure to keep an eye out for my updated Week 4 rankings for quarterbacks, running backs, and tight ends in Sunday’s games.

My Top 50 Week 4 wide receiver rankings are listed below, with Tyreek Hill, A.J. Brown, Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, and Ja’Marr Chase leading the pack. Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams, Calvin Ridley, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Mike Evans round out the top 10. It’s worth noting that all of my must-start options rank within the top 24 in my rankings, meaning they should be started in leagues with at least 12 teams.

Tyler Lockett

Many analysts doubted Lockett entering this season, as he was overshadowed by fellow Seattle Seahawks wide receivers DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. However, in 2023, Lockett leads the team with 21 targets. He has turned those opportunities into 13 catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns through three weeks. Although Lockett only had three catches for 34 yards in Week 3, he should rebound in Week 4 against the New York Giants. The Giants just allowed San Francisco 49ers star Deebo Samuel to gain 129 yards and score a touchdown in Week 3. I expect the Seahawks to continue targeting Lockett in this matchup, and I predict he will have at least eight catches for 75 yards and a touchdown. Lockett is my No. 12 option for Week 4.

Tank Dell

Dell, a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has been impressive for the Houston Texans alongside fellow rookie C.J. Stroud. He has scored touchdowns in each of his last two games and recorded 145 receiving yards in Week 3. Dell, who ranks No. 13 in my rankings, has been a top-14 option this season in terms of points-per-game. In Week 4, the Texans will face the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to wide receivers through three weeks. The Steelers also just gave up 172 yards and two touchdowns on 13 catches to Davante Adams in Week 3. In Week 2, they allowed 90 yards and seven catches to Amari Cooper, and in Week 1, they allowed 129 yards and two touchdowns on eight catches to Brandon Aiyuk. Dell should take advantage of this vulnerable secondary and provide WR1 production in Week 4.

Jakobi Meyers

I have Meyers ranked No. 19, making him a suitable WR2 option. The Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver has been an excellent complement to Adams, with 22 targets, 16 catches, 166 yards, and two touchdowns through two games. Meyers received 10 targets in Week 1, missed Week 2, and earned another 12 looks in Week 3. He has surpassed 80 receiving yards in both of his appearances. This week, the Raiders will face the Los Angeles Chargers, whose secondary has struggled due to injuries and underperformance. The Chargers have allowed the most receiving yards (807), receiving touchdowns (6), and fantasy points to wide receivers through three weeks. In Week 3, the Chargers allowed Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings to amass 149 yards. Other players who have taken advantage of this weak defense include Treylon Burks (76 yards) of the Tennessee Titans and Tyreek Hill (215 yards, two touchdowns) of the Miami Dolphins. Given the favorable matchup, I anticipate Meyers will receive at least 10 targets and exceed 75 receiving yards while finding the end zone.

Darius Slayton

Slayton may not be a reliable starter each week, but he should offer solid WR2/WR3 value in Week 4. Facing a depleted Seattle Seahawks secondary, which has allowed the second-most receiving yards (765), touchdowns (5), and fantasy points to wide receivers through three weeks, Slayton has the potential for a strong performance. In Week 3, the Seahawks surrendered 145 yards and a touchdown to Adam Thielen of the Carolina Panthers. Slayton leads Giants wide receivers with 17 targets this season and has earned at least five looks in each of his last three games. Although he has only recorded three catches in each of those contests, this favorable matchup should not be overlooked. I expect Slayton to have at least six catches for 70 yards, and if he manages to reach the end zone, he could climb into the top 15 wide receiver rankings.
