The theft took place on September 14 at Toyota of Hollywood. LAPD officers responded to a break-in and found the suspect still inside the dealership. Instead of surrendering, the suspect managed to access the dealer’s lockbox and stole the keys to a white Toyota Crown, leading to a thrilling chase down Hollywood Blvd.
Video footage shows the suspect using the stolen Crown to forcefully break through a chain-link fence and then a sturdier metal fence in an attempt to evade the police. Despite the police’s efforts to stop the suspect using spike strips and the PIT maneuver, they were unsuccessful in apprehending him.
The chase eventually led the suspect and the stolen Crown to a Lamborghini dealership in Beverly Hills, where he broke into the dealership and barricaded himself inside for over an hour. After a lengthy standoff, the police managed to enter the dealership and successfully apprehend the suspect.
