Uncovering the Search for Missing Fishermen: Divers Scour California Aqueduct

Sheriff’s divers are intensifying their search in the California Aqueduct for two elderly brothers from Glendale who are reported missing. The brothers, who planned to go fishing in the Lancaster area, have not been seen since Friday morning. The investigation is being handled by a detective from the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau/Missing Persons Unit. However, the detective was unavailable for comment on Sunday.

Divers began the search on Saturday afternoon, as authorities suspect that the men may have fallen into the water while fishing. The search is ongoing.

An official missing persons bulletin has been released, providing information about the two brothers. Minas Khacheryan, aged 86, and his brother Grigor Khacheryan, aged 78, were last seen in Glendale on Friday. Minas is described as 5-feet-4 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with short, balding gray hair, blue eyes, and a goatee. He has a heart condition and is missing his left eye. Grigor is described as 5-feet-5 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with short, balding gray hair and brown eyes. He recently underwent open-heart surgery.
