ASUS ROG EVANGE-N-LION
ASUS ROG EVANGE-N-LION Features Misprint on Motherboard
The ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero motherboard, part of the EVA-02 series inspired by the ‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’ anime, has an unexpected flaw. There is a misprint on the I/O cover, where “Evangelion” is erroneously spelled as “Evangenlion.” This issue, present in both shipped models and official promotional materials, has remained unchanged for over a month. Unfortunately, this component cannot be easily replaced, leaving users with limited options for addressing this matter, such as resorting to using a black marker.
The EVA-02 series comprises various PC components, including motherboards, graphics cards, power supplies, and a case, in addition to peripherals such as keyboards or headsets. Surprisingly, only the motherboard is affected by this issue.
Once assembled, the complete EVA-02 system will not display this error, as this component will be covered by a fan.
Early unboxing videos from September have already exposed this problem clearly. Adding to the issue, this high-end motherboard features the correct spelling of “Evangelion” multiple times, with only one instance containing the typo.
The persistence of this error across shipped models and official promotional materials raises curiosity about ASUS’s intention to address and replace the misprinted components. Hopefully, ASUS will exhibit greater attention to detail in future product iterations. On a positive note, the RTX 4090 EVA-02 remains unaffected by this issue, which is important given its high cost compared to the motherboard.
