Unbelievable Outburst: Fan Expelled from US Open for Yelling Shocking Remark

The US Open witnessed a shocking incident involving a fan that led to the fan’s ejection from the prestigious tennis tournament in Queens, New York. According to Yahoo Sports, Germany’s Alexander Zverev was well on his way to victory against Italy’s Jannik Sinker on Monday evening, but during the fourth set, Zverev abruptly halted the game and approached the chair official, pointing towards the stands. Zverev, looking distressed, informed the official, “He just said the most famous phrase associated with Hitler in the world. It’s unacceptable. This is unbelievable.”

The chair official immediately turned around and demanded that the person who made the offensive statement in the crowd identify themselves. “Who said that?” the angry official shouted at the audience behind him. After a few minutes of searching, security escorted a man, seated about 10 rows back, out of Arthur Ashe Stadium to the cheers of the crowd, as reported by The Tennis Letter. Zverev later provided more details about what he had heard from the man.

“He began singing the Nazi anthem ‘Deutschland Uber alles,’ which was a bit too much,” Zverev revealed, according to the AP. Being German himself and not proud of that part of his country’s history, Zverev felt compelled to take action upon hearing it. “I think a lot of people heard it since he was sitting in one of the front rows. If I didn’t react, it would reflect poorly on my part.” Zverev, seeded No. 12, eventually defeated Sinner by 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, in a match that stretched on until almost 2am.
