A fascinating incident occurred in Florida over the weekend when a unique three-legged bear made an unexpected visit to a family’s porch. This remarkable creature, known locally as Tripod, captured the attention of Joseph Diglio, a 13-year-old boy who happened to be watching TV at the time. Bruno, the family’s dog, barked to alert Joseph that something was happening outside, prompting him to grab his camera and record the entire event.

The video footage showcases Joseph’s astonishment as he exclaims, “Oh my god. I’ve never been this close to a bear. Oh my god, there’s a literal bear in our patio!” This thrilling encounter was first reported by NBC6 affiliate WESH, who also paid a visit to Joseph’s home to investigate the incident further. To their surprise, they discovered a massive hole in the porch screen that the bear had cleverly created to gain entry into the porch.

Once inside, Joseph witnessed the bear heading straight for the outdoor fridge, where it skillfully grabbed two White Claws—one mango-flavored and the other strawberry-flavored. While the bear’s ability to navigate the fridge was undeniably impressive, it raised concerns for Joseph and his family. “Once I saw him open the fridge, I got scared that he could open the doors to the houses,” Joseph shared with WESH. “I feel like I have to lock all the doors now. Oh, my god. I need to go secure my dog.”

Fortunately, Bruno’s continuous barking frightened the bear away, bringing an end to the astonishing encounter. Joseph accepted that such encounters are simply a part of living in their area. Interestingly, this was the second time a bear managed to break through their patio screen, making it quite an extraordinary occurrence.
