In Oas town, Albay, a head-on collision between a bus and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) resulted in two fatalities and one injury on Friday. According to Captain Kharren Formales, spokesperson for the Albay police, Nicolas Colon Salcedo was driving a Nissan Navara from Legazpi City to Polangui town when it collided with a bus in Barangay Ilaor Sur at 12:20 a.m. Salcedo and his passenger, Franklin Sarte, were killed in the crash, while Kristel Verga, another passenger, sustained injuries. Reports indicate that the bus, driven by Vicente Tevar, overtook a trailer truck and lost control, leading to the collision with the SUV on the opposite lane. Although the front portion of the bus was damaged, no injuries were reported. The Oas police have taken custody of both vehicles while the investigation is ongoing.
