Two Men Arrested for Rancho Mirage Vehicle Burglaries and Vandalism

Two individuals suspected of engaging in multiple vehicle burglaries and vandalisms, resulting in stolen property and damages valued at over $25,000, were apprehended in Rancho Mirage on Friday. Manuel Victor Guerra, a 36-year-old resident of Indio, and Osman Uriel Arellano, a 27-year-old resident of Coachella, were taken into custody on Thursday afternoon. They are facing charges of vehicle burglary, grand theft, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, committing a felony while on bail, evading, and felonious possession of a firearm, as reported by Sergeant Jeff Cryder of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted an investigation into the series of vehicle burglaries and vandalisms that occurred throughout August, eventually identifying Guerra and Arellano as the primary suspects involved in several incidents.

Collaborating with members of the Burglary Suppression Unit and the Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, and Palm Desert SET, authorities located both individuals at a residence in the 78000 block of Savanna La Mar Drive, near Bermuda Dunes, on Thursday. A search of the premises yielded the discovery of numerous stolen items and a firearm.

“Guerra was arrested at the location,” stated Cryder in a press release. “Arellano, on the other hand, was apprehended after a brief vehicle pursuit that concluded near the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Silverwood Drive in Indio.”

Both Arellano and Guerra are currently incarcerated at the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio, with bail set at $250,000.

Individuals with any information regarding the burglaries and vandalisms are urged to contact Deputy Paull at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station by dialing 760-578-4275.
