Tucker Carlson Expresses Interest in Establishing His Own Company

Tucker Carlson, like many others who have lost their jobs, is embarking on a new venture. He plans to start his own company with his college roommate and utilize Twitter as the platform for longer versions of the free videos he already shares, according to the Wall Street Journal. Short versions of his content will continue to be available for free on Twitter and other sites, but only subscribers will have access to the full-length versions. However, before launching the project, Carlson and his partner, Neil Patel, aim to raise hundreds of millions of dollars in funding. Patel previously served as an adviser to Dick Cheney during his presidency.

This is not the first business venture for Patel and Carlson, who were college friends at Trinity College in Connecticut. They co-founded the Daily Caller in 2010, which Patel still oversees. Discussions have been held between Carlson’s team and Twitter about the proposed idea, as reported by the Journal. Linda Yaccarino, the new CEO of Twitter, is actively seeking more content creators for the platform. On Thursday, the company introduced a program to share ad revenue with creators. The new Carlson-Patel company will have its own website and app, potentially featuring content from other hosts as well.

According to the Journal, big names from traditional media who transition to digital platforms often face challenges with attracting smaller audiences. However, Carlson’s debut episode of “Tucker on Twitter” garnered over 70 million views on its first day, as reported by the Hill. Nine episodes have been released thus far, with the most recent featuring an interview with Andrew Tate, who is currently facing charges including rape and human trafficking in Romania. Since Carlson’s launch, Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads has entered the market to compete with Twitter. As a guest on Friday’s episode, former Vice President Mike Pence admitted, under pressure, that the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol was indeed a riot, according to the Hill. On his Fox News show, Carlson described the Capitol charge as “mostly peaceful chaos.” (Read more Tucker Carlson stories.)
