Former President Donald Trump expressed his frustration towards Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in a passionate post on Truth Social. Trump announced his intention to request an immediate recusal of Chutkan, who was assigned to his case after the Department of Justice charged him for his alleged involvement in attempts to overturn the 2020 election.
In his online outburst, Trump declared, “THERE IS NO WAY I CAN GET A FAIR TRIAL WITH THE JUDGE ‘ASSIGNED’ TO THE RIDICULOUS FREEDOM OF SPEECH/FAIR ELECTIONS CASE. EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS, AND SO DOES SHE!”
Furthermore, he concluded by stating, “WE WILL BE IMMEDIATELY ASKING FOR RECUSAL OF THIS JUDGE ON VERY POWERFUL GROUNDS, AND LIKEWISE FOR VENUE CHANGE, OUT IF D.C.”
Trump, who has pleaded not guilty, is facing charges of conspiring to defraud the United States, obstructing an official proceeding, and unlawfully depriving voters of their civil rights.
