Trump Announces Ivanka Trump Will Not Be Part of a 2024 Administration

In an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier, Donald Trump stated that his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner would not be part of his administration if he is elected president again in 2024. Trump explained that this decision was made because the previous experience was “too painful for the family.” When asked about involving Ivanka and Jared in his hypothetical second administration, Trump responded, “I said, that’s enough for the family. You know why? It’s too painful for the family.”

Trump went on to express frustration, claiming that his family had undergone unique hardships. He mentioned that Ivanka had a successful clothing line before he appointed her as a White House adviser, but she had to close it down due to her new role. Ivanka shut down her namesake lifestyle brand in July 2018, citing her commitment to her work in Washington and a significant decline in sales.

Criticism has been directed at Ivanka and her family for potential conflicts of interest arising from their business ties while holding influential positions in the White House. However, Ivanka stated last year that she would not be involved in her father’s 2024 presidential campaign or politics and would instead focus on her family.

In addition to discussing Ivanka and Jared, Trump expressed sympathy for his second-eldest son, Eric Trump, who played a significant role in his father’s campaigns and efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. Trump highlighted the numerous subpoenas he received as a consequence of his presidential run, remarking, “I don’t think anybody in the world in history has ever had more subpoenas sent to him.”

As the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, Trump has been facing legal challenges. He was recently indicted by a federal grand jury on 37 charges related to the removal of sensitive documents from the White House and refusal to return them. This comes in addition to a previous indictment in April by the Manhattan district attorney, where Trump faces 34 felony charges for allegedly falsifying business records to conceal a $130,000 payment made to porn actor Stormy Daniels.

Overall, Trump’s decision not to involve Ivanka and Jared in a potential second administration stems from the difficulties his family faced during their previous involvement in politics.
