Travis Scott Reveals Upcoming Tour Following Astroworld Tragedy

Travis Scott is preparing to make a comeback on stage, nearly two years after the tragic Astroworld concert in Houston that resulted in the death of 10 people and injured hundreds in 2021.

According to a news release, the rapper announced on Wednesday that his upcoming tour, “Utopia – Circus Maximus,” will begin on October 11 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and conclude in Toronto, Canada, in December, with performances in 28 cities across North America.

The tour comes on the heels of Scott’s successful live performance at the Circus Maximus in Rome, Italy, which sold out 60,000 tickets in just two days, causing concerns of a potential earthquake.

This announcement marks Scott’s first official tour since the tragic Astroworld Festival, a concert that he organized and headlined.

The concert quickly descended into chaos as attendees were crushed, leading to difficulties in breathing for many who were close to the stage. The situation was later declared a “mass casualty event” by officials.

In June of this year, Scott was cleared of criminal charges related to the Astroworld tragedy. However, he still faces civil lawsuits from the families of the victims.

In a statement following the deadly event, Scott expressed his deep sorrow and offered his condolences to the victims, promising to provide assistance as soon as possible.

Last month, Scott released his fourth studio album, “Utopia,” which has remained at the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 200 Albums chart for four weeks.

According to the news release, the upcoming tour promises to provide fans with an unmatched audiovisual experience. Additionally, a portion of every ticket sold will be donated to Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation, an organization that supports the youth of Houston through various initiatives.

Tickets for the “Utopia – Circus Maximus” tour will go on sale on Thursday at 10 AM in each respective time zone.
