Travis Kelce Critiques Excessive Taylor Swift Coverage in the NFL

  • Travis Kelce believes the NFL is going too far with their coverage of Taylor Swift.
  • “Especially in my situation,” Kelce shared on his podcast “New Heights”.
  • The NFL has defended its coverage, according to ESPN.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce suggests that the NFL’s coverage of him and pop star Taylor Swift may be excessive.

“I think it’s entertaining when they show who is at the game. It enhances the atmosphere and adds excitement to what you’re watching,” Kelce shared in the latest episode of his “New Heights” podcast aired on Wednesday.

“However, I do think they might be overdoing it a bit,” Kelce continued. “Especially in my case. I believe they are just trying to have fun with it.”

While it remains uncertain whether Swift and Kelce are dating, rumors about their potential romance have intensified following Swift’s presence at two of Kelce’s NFL games.

The speculations surrounding their relationship have significantly boosted the viewership of NFL games.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the New York Jets on Sunday night, attended by Swift, recorded the highest viewership for a Sunday TV show since the Super Bowl, as reported by NBC Sports.

NBC Sports, which broadcasted the game, frequently displayed shots of Swift cheering on the Chiefs. The NFL also temporarily changed its Instagram and X biographies to reference Swift after the Chiefs’ victory over the Jets.

The NFL has defended its coverage of the pair in a statement obtained by ESPN.

In the statement, the NFL explained that they frequently modify their bios and profile imagery based on game-related and cultural events.

“The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news has become a cultural phenomenon that we have embraced in real time, as it intersects sports and entertainment. We have witnessed an overwhelmingly positive response to it,” the NFL said, emphasizing that the majority of their content still focuses on the game and its players.

Representatives for Kelce and the NFL have not responded to Insider’s request for comment outside regular business hours.
