Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce expressed his disappointment at not being able to give Taylor Swift his number through a friendship bracelet he had made for her during her Eras Tour.
During an episode of the New Heights podcast, co-hosted by his brother Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis recounted his experience attending one of Swift’s concerts.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t interact with anyone before or after her shows because she needs to preserve her voice for the 44 songs she performs,” Travis explained. “So, I was a little upset that I couldn’t give her one of the bracelets I made.”
When Jason asked about the trend of exchanging friendship bracelets among Swift’s fans during the concerts, Travis elaborated on his intentions.
“If you’re familiar with Taylor Swift concerts, you know about the friendship bracelets. I received several of them, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” Travis said.
“Your number, as in your jersey number #87, or your phone number?” Jason inquired.
“You know which one,” Travis responded with a smile.
Unfortunately, Travis’ plan was unsuccessful, as there were no meet-and-greets allowed, not even for Super Bowl winners like himself.
“She doesn’t meet anyone, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personally,” Travis admitted.
As the brothers discussed their Super Bowl clash earlier this year, Jason playfully teased Travis about Swift’s possible reason for avoiding him.
“Maybe she hasn’t gotten over the Super Bowl yet. She’s a big Eagles fan. Perhaps she made up an excuse because she didn’t want to talk to you,” Jason jokingly added.
