A 49-year-old man was fatally shot in an unincorporated area near Inglewood during the early hours of Friday morning.
Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to a shots-fired call at around 2:15 a.m. on Friday in the 1500 block of West 105th Street, near Western Avenue. The incident occurred just east of the Los Angeles and unincorporated Westmont area border.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has identified the deceased as Idrissa Simpson, a 49-year-old male who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities detained six individuals as potential witnesses and questioned them. In addition, two vehicles matching the description provided by witnesses were also seized by deputies.
As of late Friday afternoon, investigators have not identified any suspects or vehicles connected to the fatal shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
