Tragic Passing of Nic Kerdiles, Savannah Chrisley’s Former Flame, at 29 – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Former pro hockey player Nic Kerdiles, who was once engaged to Savannah Chrisley, has tragically passed away in a road accident at the age of 29.

Kerdiles, who transitioned from being an athlete to a real estate broker in Nashville, was involved in a motorcycle crash in the early hours of September 23. According to local TV station WKRN, he was riding his Indian Motorcycle west on a residential street when he failed to stop at a sign and collided with the driver’s side of a BMW SUV. Kerdiles was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have stated that neither driver showed signs of impairment, and no charges are expected to be filed against the BMW driver.

Just hours before the accident, Kerdiles had shared a photo on his Instagram Stories, showcasing himself riding his Indian Motorcycle. His final caption for the post was “Night rider.”

Upon hearing the heartbreaking news, Kerdiles’ former NHL team, the Anaheim Ducks, paid tribute to him on Twitter. They wrote, “We’re deeply saddened by the loss of Nic Kerdiles, who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident this morning. Nic, an Irvine native, made history as the first player from Orange County to play for the Ducks in 2017. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones.”

Kerdiles and Chrisley were previously engaged. Savannah Chrisley, the daughter of Todd and Julie Chrisley, ended her engagement with Nic Kerdiles in 2020 after being together for two years. Kerdiles also appeared on the reality show “Chrisley Knows Best,” which featured Savannah’s family.

Despite their breakup, Kerdiles and Chrisley remained close. In an interview with E! News in August 2021, Chrisley spoke about their friendship, saying, “Nic and I are still very much a part of each other’s lives. We’re both navigating through life and taking it day by day, learning and growing. We’re figuring out ourselves and what we want out of life.”

Chrisley has since moved on and started a new relationship. In a podcast interview with “Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe” in March, she revealed that she was dating someone new but didn’t provide further details. Later in May, Chrisley shared on her podcast “Unlocked” that she had been in a relationship with country singer Nate Smith for several months.

Despite their separation, Chrisley mentioned that she and Kerdiles were on good terms and even worked together in the real estate market in Nashville. She expressed her gratitude for their cordial relationship and said, “We both work in Nashville and the real estate market. We work on deals together and we are very cordial. So for that, I am grateful. And I’ll leave it at that,” according to an article by People.

As of now, Savannah Chrisley has not commented on Nic Kerdiles’ untimely passing.

Prior to his passing, Kerdiles had visited his family and shared a heartwarming photo on Instagram, featuring himself with his niece and nephew.

In the Instagram caption, he wrote, “Getting to go home this past weekend and see my family was something I needed more than I realized. Time seems to go by faster and faster each day.”

Kerdiles went on to say, “I will never again take these days with them for granted, and I encourage everyone to do the same. Love is precious and rare in this world. I’m incredibly grateful to have parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews who love me unconditionally. I’ve already planned my next visit home, and I can’t wait to see them again soon! I love you all so much!”
