Tragic North Miami Shooting: Father and Two Sons Fatally Shot Following Neighbor Dispute, Police Report

A tragic dispute between neighbors took a deadly turn as a man opened fire, resulting in the deaths of a father and his two adult sons in North Miami. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon and the suspect, Pierce Nelson Hoempler, 33, has been charged with three counts of second-degree murder, according to North Miami Police Maj. Kessler Brooks.

Following his arrest, Hoempler was held without bond at Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. North Miami Mayor Alix Desulme reassured the public, stating, “The department is confident that we have all parties involved in police custody.” Despite this affirmation, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

While authorities have not disclosed the specifics of the altercation, a family member of the victims shared with CBS News Miami that the deadly confrontation stemmed from “a little fight” with a neighbor. The tragic incident unfolded outside an apartment complex at 12240 NE 5th Ave in North Miami, where Hoempler allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with another man before drawing a semi-automatic pistol from his waistband and fatally shooting the three victims.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered the three men, aged between 30 and 50, with gunshot wounds. Tragically, two of the men were pronounced dead on the scene, while the third succumbed to his injuries after being airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
