Tragic Long Beach Crash Results in Vehicular Manslaughter Charges for Driver

A 46-year-old man from Los Angeles has been charged with a felony count of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence following the death of a 60-year-old woman from Long Beach. The incident occurred when the man, named Khalid Yagobbi, allegedly drove into a group of pedestrians on Saturday. Yagobbi is scheduled to be arraigned in a Long Beach courtroom, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

According to the police, Yagobbi was speeding in a white Chevy Bolt on the wrong side of Shoreline Drive when he ran a red light and collided with the pedestrians and multiple vehicles. The crash took place at around 6:34 p.m. at the intersection of Shoreline Drive and Aquarium Way.
