A tragic incident occurred in the Austrian mountains where a British man lost his life after falling from an Instagram-famous ladder bridge. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, fell approximately 300 feet to his demise.
The Mirror reported that the 42-year-old individual slipped off the end of the aerial ladder situated in the Dachstein Mountains in western Austria and plummeted into the valley below.
In response to the incident, multiple officers, along with two helicopter crews, were involved in retrieving the man. The Hallein Alpine and Abtenau police provided the necessary assistance.
The investigators have officially determined the fall as an accident.
The ladder, commonly known as “the stairway to heaven” or “sky ladder,” serves as a link between the lower and higher sections of the Donnerkogel mountain. It includes a 6,740-foot peak and spans approximately 130 feet.
This ladder has gained popularity on Instagram, attracting numerous visitors. In 2020, Stefanie Millinger, an extreme athlete with over 700,000 Instagram followers, showcased her skills by balancing on the ladder while wearing a ballet costume.
