Tragic Gold Mine Collapse in Zimbabwe: 6 Miners Dead, 15 Trapped Underground, State Media Reveals

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) — Six people have died in a tragic incident at a gold mine in Zimbabwe, with 15 individuals still trapped below the surface, as reported by state media.

Deputy mines minister Polite Kambamura, quoted by state-run Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, stated that 34 miners were affected by the collapse on Friday, and 13 managed to escape.

Rescue operations are currently underway at Beyhose mine, located in the gold-rich town of Chegutu, approximately 100 kilometers (60 miles) west of the capital, Harare.
