An appalling crime has rocked Lorain, Ohio, where a man allegedly took the lives of his 4-month-old baby, 9-year-old stepchild, and wife before ending his own life, according to the police.
Authorities responded to a report of loose dogs running in the area in the neighborhood at around 10 a.m. on Sunday, November 19. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man identified as 29-year-old Tyler Young deceased in the family’s apartment, along with a 9 mm pistol found nearby.
Further investigation led to the grim discovery of Tyler’s wife, 24-year-old Skylar Young, and their infant son, Bandin Young, who had both suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Tragically, Skylar’s 9-year-old daughter Angel Isaac was also found deceased with gunshot wounds.
Police suspect the killings took place between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m., with an instance of loose dogs in the area serving as a potential time frame indicator.
According to Lt. Jacob Morris, the evidence suggests that Tyler Young took the lives of his family before taking his own. The police found three guns in the apartment and noted a history of domestic violence, with a previous incident in which Tyler was accused of assaulting Skylar. A family member reported that Tyler had a mental health episode during the altercation but it is unknown whether he had a formal diagnosis.
