A pit bull mix that was stolen from its owner during a brazen attack inside a North Hollywood 7-Eleven store has been safely recovered and returned home. However, the suspects involved in the incident are still at large.
The theft took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning at the 7-Eleven store located in the 11100 block of Burbank Boulevard. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a woman was inside the store with her dog named Drake, an 11-year-old golden pit bull/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, when two individuals entered the establishment and launched an unprovoked assault on the woman. They forcefully took the dog away from her.

The entire incident was captured on video and gained widespread attention. The footage shows one suspect restraining the woman in a headlock while the other escapes with the dog.
Fortunately, the dog has been found and recovered by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies. It was located at a halfway house in unincorporated Santa Ana. The LAPD detectives have since reunited the dog with its owner at the North Hollywood Community Police Station.
The LAPD has yet to apprehend any suspects in connection with the incident. The authorities have described the suspects as a female dressed in all-black clothing with black shoes, and a male wearing a black-and-white sweater, blue jeans, and black shoes.
Surveillance images have been released by the detectives in the hopes that the public will aid in identifying the two individuals. Videos of the attack and the theft have also been shared on various social media platforms.
