Tottenham’s Harry Kane Dismisses PSG Move, Spurs Brace Themselves for Battle with Bayern Munich in Striker’s Future

PSG’s interest in Harry Kane has been widely discussed in recent days, but sources indicate that the English captain would decline an offer from the French club. This news will be welcomed by Spurs fans, as it reduces the likelihood of an inflated transfer fee resulting from a bidding war.

Bayern Munich has made two unsuccessful bids for Kane this summer, with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy holding out for a fee of more than £100 million (€116.36m) despite the player having just one year left on his contract. With Manchester United also seemingly out of the running, it seems that Kane’s options are to either stay at Spurs or move to Bayern if the German club can reach an agreement with Levy.

Bayern’s chief operating officer, Jan-Christian Dressen, reiterated their belief in Kane’s openness to a move to the Bundesliga, backing up honorary president Uli Hoeness’ assertion that “Tottenham will have to buckle” if he remains true to his decision to leave. Dressen added a football metaphor by saying, “It’s best for us to go with the coach who said ‘the grass doesn’t grow faster if you pull on it’.”

Kane’s rejection of PSG may prompt them to shift their attention to Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, potentially opening the door for Chelsea outcast Romelu Lukaku to move to Turin.

Regarding Kane’s future, Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou stated that the player is committed to the club and emphasized that he has had no communication from Munich. Postecoglou sees any interest from other clubs in their contracted players as their problem, not Tottenham’s. He also mentioned that there is still time before the season starts and the transfer window closes, so anything could happen.

Tottenham is willing to offer Kane a new contract worth £400,000-a-week (€465.4k) and discuss his post-playing career at the club, but so far, the player has shown no inclination to sign in this transfer window.
