Tottenham Hotspur Stadium: The Official Home of NFL in the UK Until 2029

The NFL to Hold Two Games Per Season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London through 2029-30

September 14 (UPI) – In a groundbreaking partnership, soccer franchise Tottenham Hotspur and the NFL have extended their agreement through 2029, officially designating Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the Home of the NFL in the United Kingdom. This collaboration will witness a minimum of two regular-season NFL games being played annually at the prestigious London venue, which is renowned for hosting Spurs’ Premier League soccer matches.

“We are thrilled to announce the extension of our partnership with Tottenham Hotspur until the 2029-30 season. The world-class Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will now serve as the official Home of the NFL in the United Kingdom, allowing us to bring exceptional NFL experiences to fans in London,” stated NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in a press release. “Global expansion is a critical component of our league’s strategy, and our commitment to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium enables us to continue fostering the growth of the game while generating positive social and economic impact within the local community.”

With its state-of-the-art facilities, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the sole non-U.S. venue purpose-built for NFL events, boasting a dedicated playing surface as well as specialized locker rooms and media areas. Since 2005, the NFL has organized more than 40 regular-season games internationally, hosted in various countries such as England, Canada, Germany, and Mexico, with London being the foremost host, holding 33 games to date.

Regarding upcoming games, the Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off the 2023 international series against the Atlanta Falcons on October 1 at Wembley Stadium, followed by the Jaguars facing the Buffalo Bills on October 8 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. On October 15, the Tennessee Titans will compete against the Baltimore Ravens at the same venue. Moving to Frankfurt, the Miami Dolphins will challenge the Kansas City Chiefs on November 5 at Deutsche Bank Stadium, while the final international game of the season will feature the New England Patriots taking on the Indianapolis Colts on November 12 at the same stadium.

In Week 2 action, the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Minnesota Vikings in a highly anticipated Monday night game at 8:15 p.m. EDT in Philadelphia.

Overall, the NFL’s collaboration with Tottenham Hotspur paves the way for an exciting future, promising a unique blend of American football and British soccer culture, and continuing to enhance the league’s global outreach.
