Toronto Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro confirms return of general manager Ross Atkins for next season.
Shapiro addressed the status of the GM at the start of a 30-minute end-of-season media availability on Thursday at Rogers Centre.
“When evaluating, you’re not evaluating on a series or even a season,” Shapiro expressed. “In Ross’s case, the body of work — to me — is undeniable.”
The Blue Jays were eliminated in the American League wild-card series last week in Minnesota, marking their third first-round sweep in four years.
