If you live in Temecula Valley and are planning to attend a federal military academy, it’s important to submit your application to Rep. Darrell Issa’s office for consideration. The deadline for submission is October 20th. This opportunity is open to anyone who is a recent high school graduate or pending graduate and resides in Issa’s 48th congressional district.
According to Issa, the chance to nominate talented individuals to the U.S. military service academies is an honor. These students have answered the call to service and represent the future leaders of America.
Each year, congressional representatives can nominate up to 10 candidates to attend four of the five service academies: the U.S. Air Force Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy, the Naval Academy, and the Army’s West Point. The Coast Guard Academy does not require a nomination, only an application.
To be eligible, applicants must be U.S. citizens between 17 and 23 years old, unmarried, and have no child support obligations.
To obtain a nomination application, please email [email protected]. For more information about the vetting process, visit issa.house.gov/services/military-academy-nominations.
